Nasel birds (ナセル鳥, Naseru tori) are a type of animal occasionally seen and referenced in the Suikoden series.
Information
Nasel birds look like ordinary birds, but they can understand and sometimes even speak in the human language. For this reason, nasel birds have been used as points of contact in such diverse places as the Holy Kingdom of Harmonia and the Dukedom of Gaien.
Nash Latkje's main point of contact with the Southern Frontier Defense Force was the nasel bird Dominguez. By the War of the Champions, he was working with Dominguez Jr. instead.
Much earlier in history, the use of nasel birds by the Knights of Gaien for emergency communication was a well-kept secret, which was not to be shared with outsiders. The Orark Maritime Trade attacked several birds after Ramada was made aware of their existence due to a tongue-slip by Katarina. This cut off communications for the organization, several curtailing their ability to respond to pirate attacks.
