Wakaba (ワカバ, Wakaba) is a character in Suikoden II who also appears in Genso Suikogaiden Vol.1. Wakaba is an energetic young martial artist who trains under Long Chan-Chan.
History

Wakaba was a skilled martial artist who trained in the dragon-style martial arts under her master, Long Chan-Chan. She was described as a young, unsuspecting woman with an innocent and pure-hearted personality, known for her boundless curiosity and willingness to embrace challenges. Wakaba's infectious enthusiasm served as motivation for her master, Long Chan-Chan, but she was also aware of his imperfections.
Her journey in martial arts began at a local dojo, conveniently located near her home. Driven by the aspiration to become a proficient martial arts master like her mentor, Wakaba subjected herself to rigorous training, utilizing her leg guards both as a weapon and protection during practice.
Combining her dedication to training, innate talent, and the power of the White Tiger Rune she possesses, Wakaba's strength gradually grew, propelling her to the status of a first-class fighter despite her young age. When her master advised her to seek out stronger opponents, he departed, leaving her to set out on her own path.
While on her way to Tinto Principality in search of Long Chan-Chan, Wakaba's exhaustive training led to fatigue, causing her to collapse in the Greenhill Forest. There, she was discovered by Nash Latkje, who assisted her in reaching safety on horseback. Wakaba's naïve and curious nature made her fascinated by the various people they encountered during their journey through the forest.
Subsequently, Wakaba found herself in the Forest Village, where she encountered the leader of the New State Army. Impressed by his strength, she joined the force, eventually reuniting with Long Chan-Chan in Crom Village, where they fought together in the army's infantry regiments, forming a well-coordinated duo on the battlefield.
Even after the Dunan Unification War's conclusion, Wakaba continued her training under her master's guidance, striving to achieve the remarkable feat of being able to defeat a bear using only her bare hands.
