Yu was a highly regarded physician who dedicated his life to the practice of medicine within the Kingdom of Obel. Yu's reputation for seeking proper compensation for his medical services might have conveyed a sense of callousness.
However, this disposition was rooted in practicality rather than insensitivity. He recognized the importance of charging fees that covered the expenses of necessary medical supplies, ensuring the continuity of effective care.
Amid the fall of the Kingdom of Obel to the Kooluk Empire, Yu chose to join the crew of the Headquarters Ship, recognizing its role as a refuge for the sick and injured. Yu's contribution extended beyond the realm of traditional medicine. He demonstrated his skill as a physician by addressing Trishtan's hypochondria through the use of placebo medicine.
During the Island Liberation War, Yu chose not to charge for his services directly, benefiting from the compensation provided by Lino En Kuldes. Following the liberation of Obel, he would be reunited with his assistant, Carrie, and the two worked together for the remainder of the Island Liberation War. This commitment continued post-war, when Yu collaborated with Carrie to establish a free consultation office on Obel.
Yu's later involvement in Kyril's investigation of the Rune Cannons was also instigated by Carrie's persuasive influence. Throughout their shared mission, she demonstrated her concern for his well-being, underlining their strong bond.
|Keen||You have done well by coming here. In this room, you may confess what is in your heart and accept proper judgement.|
|Yu||Judge? Well, that's fine, I guess...|
|Keen||Would you secretly inform me about anyone onboard this ship who you think is causing problems?|
|Yu||Let me think...There are some among my patients, but.....I cannot speak of my patients in a place like this. It is a doctor's obligation.|
|Keen||Then, would you tell me what you think of the Hero?|
|Yu||He may be pushing himself a little too hard...I think he should rest his body more. It is not because he has the Rune, but rather that he is working a bit too much.|
|Keen||Finally, quietly confess the things you wish to atone for, or all the things that you are thankful for.|
|Yu||Everyone has been good to me. And the Obel king is a kind man, you know?|
|Yu||Whew...Well, then, I have an appointment, so I will excuse myself now...|
|Yu||Whoa!!!!! Please keep the tomfoolery to a minimum! Honestly...|
|Joins when you speak with him during plot events following the Defending Obel naval battle.|
