Clad (クラド, Kurado) is a minor character in Genso Suikogaiden Vol.2. He is the head of Milit Village, a small location Nash travels to at the beginning of the game.
History
Clad, served as the Mayor of Milit Village in the Grassland during the tumultuous Dunan Unification War. Throughout this challenging time, the village suffered a distressing incident where soldiers, claiming allegiance to the New State Army, subjected it to looting—seizing potch, food, and valuables.
Consequently, Clad harbored a deep-seated mistrust towards both the New State Army and the Dunan Republic that emerged in its wake. As the village's leader, Clad shouldered the responsibility of governance, yet his leadership displayed occasional unpredictability, and he often erred on the side of excessive caution.
These tendencies sometimes placed the village in jeopardy, as seen when Clant's bandits, masquerading as the infamous Fire Bringer, descended upon Milit Village, threatening its safety. Clad's initial approach involved attempting to pacify the bandits without seeking the aid of several former New State officers who sought to defend the village.
Fortunately, a realization dawned upon him, prompting him to acknowledge his errors and rectify the situation. In the crucial moment, a group of valiant individuals, including Nash Latkje, Miklotov, Camus, Gilbert, Gijimu, Lo Wen, Koyu, Rina, Eilie, and Bolgan, united their strengths to safeguard Milit Village from impending peril.
Though the village came under great danger, it ultimately endured, thanks to the combined efforts of those who rallied to its defense. Clad would continue to serve as mayor now with a new willingness to cooperate with the nascent Dunan Republic.
