Rico is the single member of the Maximillian Knights under Fred's command. She is not an official knight, serving as Fred's squire with the official title of Chamberlain and Hall Porter for the Captain of the Maximillian Knights. She is the daughter of Sancho who had, in the past, served in the same role for Fred's grandfather, Maximillian. It is said that Rico's family has served in this manner for generations.
As Fred's loyal retainer, Rico journeying along with Fred, seeking out evil to fight. She would fight alongside Fred throughout the War of the Champions, helping to defend the Chisha Village and in the final battle at the Ceremonial Site. Rico would almost lose her prized medal, a gift from Fred, during that final battle and stayed behind to retrieve it. Fred would also double back to protect her before the duo made their escape.
Following the war, Rico would attempt to persuade Fred to return home many time but, in the end, would continue to assist him in his adventures.
