Landis (ランディス, Randisu) is a supporting character in Suikoden III. Landis is a gloomy Winged Horde with a penchant for scaring people.
History
A member of the Winghorde who enjoys frightening humans and whose stunts suggest he may even be on good terms with the Grim Reaper himself.

— Landis' profile
|
|
Landis is a brooding Winged Horde who carries a huge scythe reminiscent of the Grim Reaper. In fact, his manner is dark enough that some say he is an acquaintance of Death himself.
When the Fire Bringer passed through Kuput Forest, he just tagged along without introducing and returning with the group to Budehuc Castle, settling in its basement. There, he spent his time unnerving people with ghost stories and his general behavior. He was fond of Elliot, meaning he liked to scare him with ghost stories. His odd behavior included an inclination to walking on his hands and digging a grave for every fish he ate.
He disappeared as suddenly as he joined the Fire Bringer after the War of the Champions.
Gameplay
Recruitment
Recruitment
Get into random battles on the second screen (from the western
Duck Village side) of
Kuput Forest with an empty party slot. Eventually, Landis will simply be in the party at the beginning of battle. It is possible to recruit Landis as early as during Hugo or Chris Chapter 3, but not as Geddoe due to team constraints.

Trivia
- There is speculation that he and Sid are relatives of some sort, as they share a similar look, demeanor and race, but there is no indication in the games that the two even know each other.
- Landis' weapon upgrades as Calamity to Fatal Calamity. The first name, Bad Luck, cannot be seen without a cheating device.
- Landis gains the unique skills Freeze and Thief, both of which can be upgraded to the S level.
- Landis has a unite attack, Condemnation, with the ninja Ayame. She holds the target still while Landis slices through both of them without hesitation.
