Peggi (ペギィ, Pegyi) is a supporting character in Suikoden III. He is a lizard blacksmith who tends to yell, out of both enthusiasm and anger.
History
|
Peggi, a skilled blacksmith of the Lizard Clan, hailed from the Great Hollow, where he once plied his trade. Even among the discerning warriors of his clan his craftsmanship was held in esteem.
In his youth, Peggi himself had taken up arms as a warrior, but an injury to his shoulder forced him to abandon the battlefield. Afterwards, he turned his strength to the forge, where his passion and thunderous voice became as legendary as his work.
He held an almost fanatical devotion to the quality of his tools, and the sight of a finely crafted hammer could send him into raptures. One such moment was recorded when he beheld the Iron Hammer in the possession of the Fire Bringer.
His voice, loud enough to echo through the Great Hollow, roared with delight. So overcome was he by its craftsmanship that he pleaded to possess it, agreeing to join the force in exchange. So it was during the War of the Champions that Peggi lent his talents to the cause at Budehuc Castle, where he tirelessly reforged and maintained the weapons of his allies.
His booming exclamations and enthusiasm quickly became a fixture of the castle. Though his manner of speech gave the impression of perpetual anger, it was merely the fire of his spirit, not malice, that drove him. Although he occasionally grumbled about non-weapon requests, he never wavered in his dedication to the craft.
After the war, Peggi remained at Budehuc Castle, his reputation as a master smith only growing with time.
