Tal (タル, Taru) is a supporting character in Suikoden IV and Suikoden Tactics. Tal is a knight of Razril and friend of the hero.

History

I've been working hard, but recently, we've been gaining strong allies... I just hope I'm not becoming a burden... —  Tal

Tal was a Knight of Gaien trainee who graduated at the same time as Keneth, Jewel, Paula, Snowe and his friend, whom he got along well with. As the eldest member of the group, he was something of the glue holding the others together with his good nature and frank personality coupled with his impressive physique.

When his friend was accused of the murder of Glen Cott, Tal believed strongly in his innocence, even after he was exiled from Razril, fighting to try and prove his innocence. As well as a strong fighter, Tal was a passionate fisherman, sometimes working with Shiramine on board the Headquarters Ship and marveling at the quality of fish served aboard.

Following the Island Liberation War, Tal quit his military service and became a fisherman in Razril, studying under Shiramine.

Recruitment
	Before starting on your first mission, you are asked to form a party with Snowe and two of the following: Jewel, Keneth, Paula, and Tal. If you choose Tal, he will join you there. If you do not choose Tal, he will join automatically following the Regaining Razril naval battle.

Trivia

• In the Suikoden IV novelization, Tal is one of the two Knights of Gaien who joins the hero during his exile. The other is Jewel.
