Badeaux, a skilled Beastmaster hailing from the Grassland, possessed a unique gift bestowed upon him by the Rune of Mindfulness, which allowed him to communicate with animals. During Nash Latkje's journey to Greenhill City, he stumbled upon Badeaux tenderly embracing a bear in the depths of the forest.
Being able to communication with animals led him to trust the hearts of animals over those of his fellow man. His enigmatic nature was first encountered by the New State Army at the Greenhill-Matilda border, where he remained reticent until a distinctive "voice" reached his ears – a voice belonging to an animal.
Instinctively trusting the guidance of the animals and recognizing their participation in the ongoing conflicts, Badeaux decided to ally himself with the New State Army, claiming to have heard the collective voices of many within its leader. In an act of generosity, he bestowed two Listening Orbs, powerful artifacts enabling the holder to communicate with and recruit animals, to the leader.
However, Badeaux's proficiency in communication with animals starkly contrasted his interactions with fellow humans, often displaying a lack of finesse in human relations. Consequently, he primarily engaged with animals and other creatures dwelling at the New State Army Headquarters. The whip he wielded was part of his training methods and his scars were also a consequence of said methods not always been received positively.
His moments of leisure were spent atop the castle, nurturing a bond with pigeons. Among the vast array of creatures, his personal favorites were the charming Bon Bons but he was slightly unnerved by insects.
Following the culmination of the Dunan Unification War, Badeaux dedicated himself to his calling as a Beastmaster, continuing to serve the people and wildlife of the newly established Dunan Republic.
