Long Chan-Chan (ロンチャンチャン, Ron Chan Chan), also known as L.C. Chan, is a character in Suikoden II. Long Chan-Chan is a martial artist as well as the master of Wakaba.
History
|
Long Chan-Chan was a martial artist who invented the Dragon-style form of martial arts. As this was his own unique style, it did not hold any traditions or real techniques. He mainly taught techniques he saw in books. That does not mean, however, that his fighting ability was not real. Indeed, he was possessed of a superb talent for fighting. His eventual dream was to have a fighting dojo with over 1,000 students studying under him.
The main points of his style were to maintain good health (through good eating) and to train the body to the utmost limit. The White Tiger Rune that both master and student of the style bear is considered to be a mark of the dojo. He did come off as a bit brazen due to his habit of dine-and-dashing, but his skills and passion for martial arts were genuine.
During the Dunan Unification War, he would join the New State Army after being reunited with his first, and only, student, Wakaba, in Crom Village. At first he was able to persuade Wakaba that his dine-and-dashing was part of his training but eventually came clean after continued scrutiny.
As a member of the army's infantry, he put his Dragon-style martial arts to good use, fighting alongside his student. Together, the two would train daily, never wavering in their efforts or their pure-hearted desire to become stronger.
After the war, Long Chan-Chan continued on his demanding regimen and continued to tutor Wakaba, all for the sake of one day achieving his dream.
