Tetsu (テツ, Tetsu) is a character in Suikoden II. He is a devoted bathmaker and the father of Goro.
History
|
Tetsu is a bath maker from Lakewest. Tetsu is extremely passionate about baths and bathing, coming up with new designs for new and different types of baths. He cared for baths more than eating and was very much an old-school craftsman with a stubborn streak. In 457, he had a son, Goro, who would also grow up to become a bath maker and saw his father as his greatest rival.
Tetsu considered himself an out of work bath maker when he met the leader of the New State Army, but he was so impressed with his toasty looks that he offered to make custom baths for the New State Army Headquarters. The sight of people toasty from a warm bath would brighten even his most dour moods.
He encouraged people to decorate their baths, saying the best bath was that which felt like home. His greatest joy was to build such baths and to see people comfortably soaking in them.
Following the Dunan Unification War, Tetsu returned to Lakewest, where he began work on the largest bathhouse in the Dunan Republic. Years later, his son challenged him to a Bath Match which Tetsu won. This would inspire Goro to build a new bath made of new materials.
