Connell (コーネル, Kōneru) is a supporting character in Suikoden II who also appears in Genso Suikogaiden Vol.1. Connell is a phonologist aiming to follow in his father's footsteps.
History

Connell was raised in the intricacies of phonology from an early age by his father and mother, both revered practitioners in the field.
Driven by the ambition to follow in his father's footsteps, he embarked on a journey to the Holy Kingdom of Harmonia. There, in Crystal Valley, Connell immersed himself in the study of phonology. It was within the domain of phonology that Connell would discover his unique ability to manipulate emotions through the artful use of sound.
When the Dunan Unification War erupted, Connell felt the need to return to the Forest Village, where his younger sister resided. Fate would place him in the heart of Greenhill City during its siege by the Highland Army. In an act of great cunning, Connell utilized his Sound Rune to stun the rebelling soldiers of Muse City, enabling the escape of the captive Teresa Wisemail through a cacophony of sound.
Later, after finally returning to the Forest Village, Connell's path intertwined with the New State Army. Moved by the resounding call for peace emanating from the heart of its leader and eager for an opportunity to listen to the heartfelt echoes of people, he joined the ranks of the New State Army. Throughout the course of the conflict, his phonological talents proved instrumental in inspiring and calming the hearts of soldiers.
Following the conclusion of the Dunan Unification War, Connell briefly reunited with his sister in the Forest Village before embarking on a pilgrimage back to Crystal Valley. With a burning passion to further his phonological mastery, he set out to continue his studies in the hope of unlocking the boundless potential hidden within the reverberating harmonies of sound.
