History
|
Teresa Wisemail is the daughter of Alec Wisemail, the mayor of Greenhill City. As Alec became gravely ill, Teresa took over his duties, gaining a large amount of popularity and becoming an icon for the town. Following her father's death in the early stage of the Dunan Unification War, she refused the position of mayor and so the townspeople created the office of acting mayor for her.
She was a bright woman and fiercely devoted to Greenhill. Her compassion extended to others also. She would have Yuri take care of Nash Latkje when he was found collapsed in Greenhill Forest. Teresa would attempt to negotiate with the Highland Kingdom until the last minute to prevent an invasion of Greenhill.
Negotiations would break down and Teresa would make the decision, with Nash's assistance to fight. Thanks to the efforts of many, the initial Highland assault was successfully repulsed. It was the release into Greenhill custody of 5,000 Muse City soldiers that would prove the city's downfall. With the city's food running out, the Muse soldiers rose up in revolt.
Teresa attempted to quell the violence by surrendering herself to the Muse soldiers, who planned to turn her over to Highland, but was prevented from doing so by her allies. Teresa was able to get away and hid in the forests behind Greenhill along with her bodyguard, Shin. Being the only one to escape the Highland occupation shamed her and crushed her confidence as mayor.
Seeing the people suffering from the Highland occupation, she tried to alleviate the situation by surrendering herself, rejecting an offer to join with the New State Army. However, she was confronted with the sight of a people who believed in her and wished to protect her. Seeing this, Teresa would choose to fight. Swearing to return, she would escape with the New State Army.
As a member of the New State Army, Teresa participated in battle as a commander and accompanied the hero to Muse in an unsuccessful attempt to negotiate a peace treaty. After Greenhill had been liberated, her cherished home, Teresa remained with the New State Army for the remainder of the war.
Following the war, Teresa became mayor of Greenhill. Although the hero was intended to be inaugurated as the first president of the Dunan Republic, Teresa would be appointed acting president after his disappearance. In her dual role, she worked hard for peace, settling accounts with the nearby Karaya Clan.
In SY 461, she would officially become the President of the Dunan Republic, leading the people to a brighter future in the footsteps of the hero who led his comrades to fight for peace.
