Hauser is a talented soldier who served as the commander of the [[Muse City]] forces. Hauser was held in high esteem and was believed to ensure the safety of the city<ref>"You're worried about the war? It'll be okay. Hauser believed that the [[Highland Army]] massed at the [[Muse-Highland Border]] was a threat, but was unable to convince other leaders of the danger during the [[Hilltop Conference]].
Hauser was a talented military officer who served as the commander of the [[Muse City]] army. Due to his capable command, he had been able to unite the armies of each city and stave off an invasion of the [[City-States of Jowston]] by the [[Highland Kingdom]] for some time prior to the outbreak of the [[Dunan Unification War]].

After the fall of Muse, Hauser, along with [[Jess]], headed to [[Tinto]]. When [[Neclord]] came to Tinto, Hauser and Jess raised troops against him. Despite high casualties, thanks to the intervention of the [[New State Army]], Jess and Hauser were successful in defending Tinto and wiping out Neclord's [[Zombie|zombies]]. Afterwards, Jess and Hauser became part of the New State Army.
This is the reason why when Muse City fell to the [[Highland Army]], he escaped the city with [[Jess]] and fought under him in his role as acting mayor of Muse, rather than joining the New Alliance Army, regardless of his personal confidence in Jess's decisions. It was only with the offical entry of Muse into the New Alliance Army in [[Tinto City]] that he would join the force.


Hauser fought in many of the battles of the [[Dunan Unification War]], slowing [[Highland Kingdom|Highland]] forces from occupied Muse during the occupation of [[Greenhill]], aiding the escape of [[Riou]] from the [[Golden Wolves]] of Muse, commanding a unit in the liberation of [[Rockaxe]], and participating in the [[The Last Battle (Suikoden II)|Last Battle]].

Hauser was a talented military officer who served as the commander of the Muse City army. Due to his capable command, he had been able to unite the armies of each city and stave off an invasion of the City-States of Jowston by the Highland Kingdom for some time prior to the outbreak of the Dunan Unification War.

He has served Muse City as a soldier since at least Solar calendar SY 446, when he was on hand to help Anabelle when she and Viktor investigated an arms merchant ring attempting to foster war between South Window City and Two River City.

This is the reason why when Muse City fell to the Highland Army, he escaped the city with Jess and fought under him in his role as acting mayor of Muse, rather than joining the New Alliance Army, regardless of his personal confidence in Jess's decisions. It was only with the offical entry of Muse into the New Alliance Army in Tinto City that he would join the force.

After the war, Hauser became the commander of the Dunan Republican Army.
