Badeaux, a skilled Beastmaster hailing from the [[Grassland]], possessed a unique gift bestowed upon him by the [[Rune of Mindfulness]], which allowed him to communicate with animals. During Nash Latkje's journey to Greenhill City, he stumbled upon Badeaux tenderly embracing a bear in the depths of the forest.

[[Riou]] first encountered him at the [[Muse-Matilda Border]], although he would not talk until he heard "a voice", that is to mean the voice of a animal. Learning that Riou was a good master and that animals too were fighting, he joined the [[New State Army]], saying he heard the voices of many inside Riou.
