Rubi (ルビィ, Rubyi) is a character in Suikoden. Rubi is an argumentative elf who left the Village of the Elves.
History

Rubi was an elf who had grown weary of the Village of the Elves' adherence to antiquated traditions. He made the bold decision to leave the village when Kirkis was still a youth.
Being someone who believed in firsthand experiences, Rubi sought a new path unburdened by the weight of old ideals. At some point he lost his left eye, with some facial scarring in the area visible under his hair.
It was during the Gate Rune War that Rubi's journey brought him to the Kobold Village, where fate reunited him with Kirkis. At first, Rubi dismissed Kirkis' plea to join the Toran Liberation Army, but eventually, he had a change of heart.
Witnessing the remarkable growth of Kirkis into a formidable warrior, transcending the boundaries of race and fighting for his convictions, Rubi realized he was still mired in old ways of thinking and was compelled to join forces.
Embracing the role of an archer, Rubi fought valiantly throughout the war. He would spend his free time atop the roof of Toran Castle, used to being alone, though he did grow more comfortable with having comrades he cared about in time.
After the war's conclusion, Rubi's dedication and bravery earned him the continued respect of Kirkis, who welcomed him back to the Village of the Elves. Together, they worked to rebuild and restore the village to its former glory.
