Eikei (エイケイ, Eikei) is a supporting character in Suikoden. Eikei is a powerful martial artist who respects only those he perceives as strong.
History
Strength alone is truth. There's nothing else worth believing in.
— Eikei
Eikei was a powerful wandering martial artist who only respected strength and was always wandering and looking to increase his power from fighting with warriors more powerful than himself, rather than to defeat strong opponents. His claw weapons are made of steel and so he was able to use them to deflect sword and arrow strikes.
He joined the Toran Liberation Army after being suitably impressed with the leader of the Liberation Army's level of strength in Teien. He had no interest in the ideological war between the Liberation Army and the Scarlet Moon Empire. Eikei was also not overly concerned with the hero's status as leader of an army. McDohl's personal strength was the only thing that impressed him.
According to some more obscure sources, during his time with the army, he opened a colosseum in Toran Castle, using his Lion's Blade Rune to summon monsters to attack opponents and aid in training purposes.
He seemed to get along with Kai, both being dedicated to their martial arts. He also used his physical strength to aid the Liberation Army in combat as its shield until the war's end, training himself and helping the army at the same time.
Following the end of the Gate Rune War, Eikei left to continue his journey in search of worthy opponents with seemingly no end in sight for his journey.
