Kage (カゲ, Kage) is a character in Suikoden. He is a lone ninja and a mercenary for hire.
History

Kage is a lone ninja, unattached to sentiment or law. He believes only in the contracts he agrees to and will take any job for the right price. His only goals are to carry out the terms of his mission coldly and efficiently and never to betray a contract he has agreed to.
In the early Gate Rune War, Kage had a contract with the Scarlet Moon Empire, stealing the plans for the Burning Mirror from the Dwarves' Vault. Later, he met the leader of the Liberation Army at the Secret Factory. He agreed to fight for 20,000 potch, forming a contract with the Liberation Army that would last the remainder of the war.
This was not an insubstantial amount, but his successes had taught Kage to never sell himself cheaply. He held pride in his work as a ninja acting behind the scenes of history.
At Toran Castle, he could be frequently found on the roof along with fellow ninja Kasumi and Fuma. The atmosphere was not exactly friendly, and the group did not share tricks or techniques. In a line of work such as Kage's, revealing your talents and limitations to others is not encouraged.
His abilities were instrumental in increasing the capability of the Liberation Army's espionage. He also held formidable battle skills, making the 20,000 potch paid to him seem like quite the bargain. Once the war had ended, his contract was fulfilled and so he disappeared into the shadows once again.
