Chapman (チャップマン, Chappuman) is a character in Suikoden. Before and during the Gate Rune War, he was an armor merchant, but later quit his job to enter the entertainment industry.
History
|
Chapman was a merchant who managed an armor shop in the town of Antei. His interactions with customers were often contentious, marked by his sharp tongue, leading to frequent arguments and a damaged reputation for his store.
Behind his bitterness lay a deep frustration with his perceived lack of usefulness to the growing rebel cause throughout the Scarlet Moon Empire. When the Toran Liberation Army arrived in Antei, Chapman seized the opportunity and joined them, driven by righteous anger.
Upon becoming a member of the Liberation Army, Chapman established an armor shop within Toran Castle, offering the finest armor available at all times. His straightforward nature was evident as he never hesitated to demand payment for his products and services, even from his comrades in the fight for freedom.
Following the conclusion of the Gate Rune War, Chapman decided to transition away from the armor business entirely. He ventured into the field of entertainment and opened a theatre, which proved to be a resounding success.
