The Village of the Dwarves (ドワーフの村, Dowaafu no Mura, Dwarf Village) is a village which appears in Suikoden. It is the home of the dwarf community of the Toran region.
Information
The Village of the Dwarves in the mountainous area of the Great Forest located across the Dwarf Trail and as such it was considered rare for non-dwarf races such as humans to make the journey successfully. It was the largest known dwarf settlement.
The village is dominated by a windmill, said to generate electricity, which is based on the dwarves' ancient teachings. The village sustains itself mostly by selling armor made from iron ore and other precious metals. It is said that the village is a perfect example of the dwarves' advanced architectural skills.
Despite a lack of knowledge about humans, some humans do come to the village, such as Meese, who came to refine his blacksmith techniques. Humans also sometimes acted as intermediaries for the dwarves in their dealing with other races as their exacting craftsmanship sometimes prevented them from brokering their own deal efficiently.
