Zen (ゼン, Zen) is a supporting character in Suikoden. Zen is a gardener who worked at Qlon Temple before joining the Toran Liberation Army.

History

Not a great year for flowers. Not enough wind.

Zen worked as the gardener at Qlon Temple. He specialized in landscaping and was particularly adept at blooming colorful flowers.

He was a good-natured, quiet sort who preferred to quietly work on maintain his flowers in the background. His tenderness shined through his hands and the care with which he raised his flowers.

He agreed to join the Toran Liberation Army when asked by the hero but first requested some Red, Blue and Yellow Flower Seeds so he could finish his business at the temple.

After planting the seeds, Zen joined the Liberation Army. At Toran Castle, Zen was often heard to remark that it was a poor time for flowers, due to a lack of wind.

Following the end of the Gate Rune War, Zen remained at the castle, helping it blossom with flowers.

When your castle is at Level 3 or higher, talk to Zen at the rear of Qlon Temple and bring him the Red, Yellow and Blue Flower Seeds. They are found at the item shops in the Warriors' Village, Teien and Rikon respectively.
