Melodye (メロディ, Merodi) is a character in Suikoden. She is a young woman looking for a rare rune to unlock her own special ability.

History

I want to use this small power of mine for the good of all.

Melodye was a young acoustician who was told had the special talent to draw out the power of the rare Sound Rune. However, she was worrying in the city of Kirov during the Gate Rune War as, even with the knowledge of her potential, she had no way to obtain such a rare rune.

Melodye's motivation in searching for the Sound Rune was not to enrich herself but to gain the ability to help those suffering in troubled times, however little her comfort may be.

Luckily, the the leader of the Toran Liberation Army found a Sound Rune and gave it to her. In gratitude, Melodye joined the Liberation Army's cause.

At Toran Castle, Melodye would spend her time under the blue sky at the castle garden, enjoy the use of her Sound Rune and smiling happily when speaking. During the war, she used her phonological skills and awakened power to aid the force to the best of her ability, giving the Liberation Army a variety of sounds.

Following the end of the war, Melodye took off with her Sound Rune to collect all the sounds of the world.
