Anji led a crew of lake pirates who rampaged the [[Lake Toran]] area, trading in smuggled goods, during the [[Gate Rune War]]. Prior to becoming a bandit, he was a merchant who owned his own ship before becoming a pirate in order to fight against the tyranny of the [[Scarlet Moon Empire]], alongside [[Kanak]] and [[Leonardo]]. Naturally, his relationship with the Imperial Navy was correspondingly awful, with him and [[Sonya Shulen]] frequently at loggerheads.
