Griffith (グリフィス, Gurifisu) is a supporting character in Suikoden. A man with a great deal of respect for his men's lives, Griffith was a soldier in the Scarlet Moon Empire Imperial Army as well as the Toran Liberation Army.
History

Griffith was appointed the commanding officer of the Northern Checkpoint during the Gate Rune War, to protect Moravia Castle from the south. As an officer of the Scarlet Moon Empire, Griffith always posed as a slippery person but in actuality, he cared for the lives of his troops more than his own pride.
His airy demeanor covered his more serious and responsible attitude towards his men. This trait was exploited by the Toran Liberation Army in their attack on the Northern Checkpoint as Griffith quickly agreed to surrender in exchange for the lives of his men.
