Initially starting his military career as a low-ranking soldier in the [[Scarlet Moon Empire]]'s [[Imperial Army]], Ain Gide earned a place in [[Teo McDohl]]'s unit, drawing attention from Teo himself, which led to a promotion.

Ain Gide was an Imperial officer and loyal subordinate, as well as a friend of [[Teo McDohl]]. During the Gate Rune War, as an Imperial security commander he had jurisdiction over the [[Fortress of Kwaba]]. There, when [[Tir McDohl|Tir]] was pursued by the [[Imperial Guard]] for treason, Ain deliberately overlooked him and let him and his colleagues pass. It was a betrayal of his duties, and also a breach of trust against the Empire, but Ain gave priority to the friendship between himself and Teo.
Ain Gide is fought as a boss enemy in [[Suikoden]]. He is encountered in [[Gregminster]] at the end of the game. Guarding the entrance to [[Gregminster Palace]], he is the game's penultimate boss. He is a magic-focused opponent and can decimate physical-focused fighters with relative ease.


But he was still a true warrior. Near the end of the Gate Rune War, Ain stood in Tir's way at the last bastion of the Scarlet Moon Empire, [[Gregminster Palace]].
