Maas (マース, Māsu) is a supporting character in Suikoden. Maas is one of several apprentices of the master blacksmith, Mace.

History

You've got a fine collection of tools here.

—  Maas
He's talking about cracking people's skulls with a hammer.

Maas was the apprentice of the legendary blacksmith, Mace but still considered himself a beginner. He was the youngest of Mace's pupils and relatively inexperienced. Still, but had a great work ethic with a high ambition to improve himself.

McDohl found Maas working in the Great Forest Village and allowed an eager Maas to join the fledgling Toran Liberation Army. In order to hammer out the distortions of the world, he single-mindedly continued to strike with his hammer at Toran Castle. There he would continually hone his skills in the workshop.

When Meese heard Maas had joined the Liberation Army, he also agreed to join, citing Maas' opinion. Later, along with Mose, the three blacksmiths were able to convince Moose - the best of Mace's students - to join the war effort.

Reunited, the four apprentices would later find their old master hiding away at Seek Valley. Together, they were able to convince Mace to come out of retirement and serve the Toran Liberation Army.

Following the Gate Rune War, dissatisfied with his work and his inexperience, Maas redoubled his efforts to become a better blacksmith.
