Krin is a petty thief who attempts to manipulate situations for his own profit. Krin encountered Tir McDohl in Kouan, where Krin told Tir McDohl and his party that they would never get in to see Lepant, and that he had a much better plan if they wanted to meet Lepant. After Tir McDohl accepted to hear out Krin's plan, Krin told Tir and his party about Lepant's greatest treasures, his wife Eileen and his sword Kirinji; should Tir and his party steal Kirinji, Krin was sure Lepant would quickly be hot on their heels. When Viktor asked how they would go about stealing Kirinji, Krin told Tir McDohl and his party to simply leave that to him and come around to Lepant's house later.
He would prove useful during the war in espionage actions, helping to sneak the Liberation Army into Moravia Castle to rescue Viktor and Warren. Even then, his cowardice was clear as he maintained he would abandon the party at the first sign of trouble, much to Kasumi's ire. The two had a volatile relationship, with Krin mocking Kasumi for her crush on the hero.

When the Toran Liberation Army members met with Krin later that evening, Krin tied a rope around a tree outside of Lepant's estate for Tir and his party to climb through. Krin did not accompany Tir McDohl and his party, claiming his part was done. When Tir McDohl and his party retrieved Kirinji, Krin praised them, claiming that they had done very well, as Krin himself had once tried to burgle Lepant but had been unable to overcome Lepant's defences. Krin then offered them some tea, but Tir McDohl and his party, having recently been swindled by a similar trick perpetrated by Ledon, asked Krin to drink it first. Krin attempted to refuse, claiming he had not worked and therefore had not gotten tired, but Tir McDohl and his party were not fooled, and quickly tied Krin to a bed, Viktor calling Krin a scoundrel.
Despite seeming like something of a dolt, Krin was in fact quite shrewd. At the end of the war, Krin managed to loot Gregminster Palace before disappearing with his ill-gotten gains.

Lepant quickly found Tir McDohl and his party, having been notified by Krin where Tir would be so that Lepant could capture them in their sleep. When Tir, Lepant, and the others returned to Toran Castle, Krin came along with them, joining the Toran Liberation Army.

Krin served the Toran Liberation Army throughout the war, performing some reconnaissance with Kasumi. The two caught Taggart wandering around Toran Castle. Krin was sure that Taggart was a spy, and that was the reason that he would not say a word. Kasumi was more doubtful of Krin's hunch, claiming that it had not been the first time his instincts had been wrong and that Taggart's silence was not necessarily proof that he was a spy. Krin teased Kasumi for how ladylike she attempted to be in front of Tir McDohl, claiming that for her it was a lost cause. Later in the Gate Rune War, Krin and Kasumi were sent on a reconnaissance mission into Scarlet Moon Empire territory, where they were able to determine there was an intelligence leak in the Toran Liberation Army, though they were unable to determine where the leak was.

Following the Battle at the Northern Checkpoint, Krin was chosen as one of Tir McDohl's party members for the rescue of Viktor and Warren from Moravia, along with Kasumi. Krin wondered whether their plan to enter Moravia Castle would work, saying that he would escape by himself should it fail. Kasumi asked whether Krin would really leave Tir behind, but Krin merely laughed and replied he did not know. Krin aided the party during their infiltration of Moravia by tying a rope between spires. When they encountered Viktor and Warren's cells, Krin taunted them, wondering if they should stay there longer to cool off and telling them to catch Krin should they be able to. Krin (クリン, Kurin) is a supporting character in Suikoden. Krin is a thief who attempts to use situations for his own profit.

History

Teehee! Come and get me if it bugs you so much!

—  Krin

Krin was a petty thief who cannot really be considered anything of a real threat. While skilled at escaping and disappearing, he lacked any real cunning as a thief and was usually dreaming of bigger heists, making him prone to blunders in the present. He was seen operating in Lenankamp, breaking into one house and stealing the savings of another person from their room at the Keyaki Inn.

Oh heck yeah, I love tea!

During the Gate Rune War, he attempted to steal the sword Kirinji from Lepant's mansion in Kouan, both directly and by trying to manipulate McDohl, only to fail both times. Still, he did not discard his dreams of wealth, instead deciding to join the Toran Liberation Army. He did not really understand the conflict between the Liberation Army and the Imperial Army, only joining having smelled the possibility of a profit from following the group.

Despite seeming like something of a dolt, Krin was in fact quite shrewd. At the end of the war, Krin managed to loot Gregminster Palace before disappearing with his ill-gotten gains.
