Hilda (ヒルダ, Hiruda) is a character in Suikoden II. Hilda is an innkeeper who is married to Alex.

History

Hilda is a young woman from Muse City who married Alex. She was working in Muse as a battlefield nurse when she met Alex during Muse's harvest festival; the two quickly fell in love and were married within six months of meeting.

Alex and Hilda opened the White Deer Inn, in the outskirts of Muse City after marrying and had a son, Pete. Hilda often worked alone at the inn due to her husband's growing obsession with treasure hunting. Her own hobby was preparing herbs.

During the Dunan Unification War, Hilda loaned her Entry Permit to Nanami and the hero after their group stayed at the inn and helped Hilda recover from a sudden illness caused by overwork by discovering medicinal herbs in the ruins behind the inn. This incident opened Alex's eyes to his neglect, and he began to take a more active role in helping his wife.

Due to the war, they were later forced to desert their inn and headed to South Window City. Once there, they were reunited with the hero. Hilda, hearing that the young man had become the leader of the New Alliance Army, wanted to help and volunteered her and Alex's services. The couple moved to the New Alliance Army Headquarters where Hilda opened an inn.

Though she mostly worked in a non-combative role, Hilda and Alex did help the New Alliance Army by acting as (fake) reinforcements during a battle with the Matilda Knightdom.

Following the war, Hilda returned to the White Deer Inn, happily living with her husband and son.

Hilda's design was modeled after a high school classmate of one of the development team who resembled a certain movie actress.
