Chaco is a Winged Horde child from Two River. Chaco had a reputation for tricking others.
Chaco was a mischievous and ill-disciplined child belonging to the Winged Horde in Two River City. He was popular with his fellow children in the community and often played games with them. As a child he was watched over and picked on by Sid in equal measure.

During the Dunan Unification War, Chaco encountered the young New State Army leader Riou and stole the young man's wallet. Chaco repeatedly taunted Riou before eventually being ordered by his grandmother, Susu, to lead the young man to her.
He would participate in the SY 459 Spirit Festival, which would mark the first time he was able to complete the festival's trail of courage for children. He would encounter the spirit of his recently deceased uncle, Phobo, during this festival.

Chaco's mind gradually changed about the young leader as he saw Riou attempt to foil the Highland Army plot, which took advantage of the racial tensions present in Two River. Vowing to fight against Highland to protect his home town, Chaco helped inspire all races of Two River to fight together and successfully repelled the Highland invasion.
Known for his tricks and pick-pocketing tendencies towards both humans and kobolds, he often stole wallets and coin-purses from unsuspecting individuals in the city in a bid to both "toughen them up" and make a little money on the side. Despite his questionable actions, Chaco had a deep sense of pride for his hometown.

Chaco decided to join the New State Army soon after, impressed with the comraderie of the New State Army.
During the Dunan Unification War, Chaco's encounter with the young leader of the New Alliance Army led to a series of events that changed his perspective. Initially stealing the young man's wallet, Chaco repeatedly taunted him before eventually being ordered by his grandmother, Susu, to lead the young man to her.

During the Dunan Unification War, Chaco proved useful when he rescued Teresa Wisemail and Riou from a trap in Muse City. Chaco did not forget his friends in Two River, however, and wrote letters to people in Two River.
Chaco's attitude towards the hero gradually shifted as he witnessed his efforts to thwart the Highland Army's plot exploiting racial tensions in Two River. Inspired to protect his hometown, Chaco played a crucial role in uniting all races of Two River, leading to the successful repelling of the Highland invasion.

After the war, Chaco returned to Two River, where he continued to stir up trouble with his friends.
Impressed with the camaraderie and mission of the New Alliance Army, Chaco decided to join their ranks, relocating to New Alliance Army Headquarters. He still held resentment and fear towards Sid, due to past mistreatment, such as being locked in a well for three days. So, when Chaco inadvertently introduced Sid to the New Alliance Army, leading to Sid's recruitment, he was quite dismayed.

Trivia
Chaco proved to be valuable to the New Alliance Army, aiding in rescuing Teresa Wisemail's group from a trap in Muse City and offering support when needed. His speed and ability to fly and glide for short distances served him and the army well. Despite his new life with the army, Chaco remained connected to his friends in Two River, maintaining communication through letters.
* During the Dunan Unification War, Chaco is dumped by an unseen and, other than in one investigation by Richmond, unmentioned girlfriend, but it doesn't get him down.
* Chaco is the only character in Suikoden II who has the war battle ability to flight.

Chaco (チャコ, Chako) is a character in Suikoden II. Chaco is a mischievous young Winged Horde whose love for his town led him to fight for the New Alliance Army.

History

This town belongs to all of us!!!

—  Chaco

Chaco was a mischievous and ill-disciplined child belonging to the Winged Horde in Two River City. He was popular with his fellow children in the community and often played games with them. As a child he was watched over and picked on by Sid in equal measure.

He would participate in the SY 459 Spirit Festival, which would mark the first time he was able to complete the festival's trail of courage for children. He would encounter the spirit of his recently deceased uncle, Phobo, during this festival.

After the conclusion of the war, Chaco returned to Two River, where he continued to engage in playful mischief with his friends.
