Tessai (テッサイ, Tessai) is a character in Suikoden II. He is a blacksmith looking for a great sword to reignite his passion for his trade.
History

Tessai was a blacksmith who has made forging weapons his vocation and devoted all of his passion to his work. His passion for great weapons was what initially led him to become a blacksmith.
He had a workshop in Kuskus Town and a single disciple, the rest having been expelled or rejected at one point or another. Like many blacksmiths, he longed for the opportunity to work on a great or legendary sword.
However, such an opportunity did not come along, and eventually his passion for his work waned. By the time of the Dunan Unification War, he found himself jaded and uninspired. He would spend much time away from his workshop in Kuskus, hoping to find a legendary sword such as the Celestial Sword or the Dragon King Sword to inspire him.
Returning to Kuskus as dissatisfied as ever, when he noticed that Viktor wielded the Celestial Sword, his passion returned. He begged to join the New Alliance Army in order to work on the sword with his own two hands. Tessai was a talented smith, able to strength a weapon to its maximum level, providing he had the right tools.
