He had a sharp tongue that frequently led him to argue and cause trouble with his customers on an almost daily basis. However, there was a reason behind his bitterness. It was because he felt a deep frustration with himself for not being of any use to the [[Toran Liberation Army]].


When the Liberation Army visited Antei, Chapman saw his chance and joined them in a characteristic flurry of righteous anger. He would go on to open an armor shop at [[Toran Castle]], making the finest armor available at all times. His straight-forward nature meant that he never had any problem insisting on payment for his efforts, however.
