Sulis (スリス, Surisu) is a minor character in the Suikoden II novelization. A Kyaro soldier in the Unicorn Brigade, known for both his freckles and his cheerful nature. His life ended tragically during the betrayal by Captain Rowd.
History
|
Sulis was born to a farming family in the region of Kyaro. At the age of 16, he would enlist in the Unicorn Brigade six months after his comrades, the hero and Jowy, seeking to serve his nation and protect his homeland.
Sulis admired the hero and Jowy, both of whom had trained under the legendary martial arts master Genkaku. He often expressed his desire to learn martial arts from the hero, a promise the hero made to fulfill upon their return to Kyaro.
During the treacherous night attack on the Unicorn Brigade, Sulis would escape into the eastern forest where he would be severly wounded, losing his right arm. The hero would staunch the wound and try and keep him safe, propped against a tree.
When one of the ambush soldiers broke away to attack him, the hero would try and save Sulis but was too late. His last words were how he couldn't die until he returned to Kyaro and enjoyed his mother's cooking again.
Pohl's youthfulness and temperment would remind the hero of Sulis.
