Recruitment guide (Suikoden II)

This recruitment guide contains unconcealed, full recruitment information for every character in Suikoden II. Each entry contains the name and portrait of the character, the location where their recruitment begins, and full details on any steps that need to be taken.

The player's castle level is determined by the player's plot progression and the number of 108 Stars recruited. This number does not include other characters that be recruited by the player such as the extra flying squirrels.

Yoshino	Radat Town	1	Speak to her at her home in southern Radat Town with Freed Y. in the party.
Alex	South Window City	1	Following plot events in North Window, talk to Alex and Hilda in the upstairs of South Window City's inn.

Amada	Radat Town	1	After being approached to travel to Two River City, talk to him at the Radat Town sluice gate and defeat him in a duel.
Tai Ho	Kuskus Town	1	After being approached to travel to Two River City, talk to him at the Kuskus Town docks and win 5,000 potch from him in Chinchirorin.

Clive	South Window City	1	After boarding your boat for the first time, talk to him in South Window City. Make sure to have met with Elza during your first visit in Muse City.

Hans	Two River City	1	Talk to him in his room on the second floor of the inn in Two River City's human district. For immediate recruitment, do not ask for any payment.

Feather	Forest Village	3	After initiating the recruitment quest with Ayda, succesfully protect him and use the Listening Orb when prompted, then recruit him.
Siegfried	Unicorn Woods	3	After recruiting Hix and Tengaar, and if you have at least one set of Listening Orbs acquired from recruiting Badeaux, return to the Unicorn Woods where you confronted Siegfried previously with a "maiden" in the party (Ayda, Eilie, Karen, Kasumi, Meg, Mikumiku, Millie, Nanami, Nina, Tengaar, Tomo, Viki or Wakaba) and agree to let him join.
Lebrante	Radat Town	3	Bring him a Celadon Urn at his appraisal shop.
Simone	Radat Town	3	Talk to him in the southwestern corner of Radat Town's sluice gate with a Rose Brooch in your inventory (usually found in the Banner Village item shop).
Kasumi	Gregminster	0	Choose to have Kasumi lead the relief forces during plot events in Gregminster and she will automatically join. You cannot recruit both her and Valeria.
Valeria	Gregminster	0	Choose to have Valeria lead the relief forces during plot events in Gregminster and she will automatically join. You cannot recruit both her and Kasumi.

Gordon	Gregminster	3	Earn 50,000 potch or more through the use of trade posts then talk to him at his trade post in Gregminster.
Mondo	Rokkaku Hamlet	3 or 4	Enter Rokkaku Hamlet through the entrance on the 4th screen of Banner Pass. You can do this when your headquarters is at Level 3 if Kasumi is in the party. Otherwise, your headquarters must be at Level 4.
Sasuke	Rokkaku Hamlet	3 or 4	If you have recruited Kasumi, talk to Sasuke in Rokkaku Hamlet with her in the party after recruiting Mondo. Otherwise, Sasuke joins with Mondo by visiting Rokkaku after your headquarters is at Level 4.
Bob	Two River City	3	Once at least 81 stars are recruited, talk to him in the kobold district of Two River City.
Tomo	Ryube Forest	3	Following plot events in Gregminster, return to Tsai's home deep within Ryube Forest with Tsai in the party and talk with Tomo inside.
Annallee	South Window City	3	Meet Annallee at South Window City's inn before talking to her again in the garden outside South Window's city hall.
Killey	South Window City	3	Visit him in South Window City and tell him about Alex. Visit Alex at New Alliance Army Headquarters, then return to South Window and repeatedly ask Killey to join.
Karen	Kuskus Town	3	Following plot events with Luca Blight, agree to dance with her at the Kuskus Town inn.
Maximillian	South Window City	3	Encounter him in South Window City any time after the battle against Luca Blight and agree to let him join.
Hoi	Radat Town	3	Head to Radat Town's tavern and meet Hoi there. Take him to your headquarters and he will join you.
L.C. Chan	Crom Village	3	Talk to him in Crom Village inn with Wakaba in the party. Follow him behind the Item Shop and talk to him.
Tenkou	Crom Village	3	Speak to him at his home in Crom Village with a Window Set in the inventory and ask him to join.

Alberto	Tinto City	3	Following the liberation of Greenhill City, talk to Alberto in Tinto City's armor shop once you have Annallee and Pico recruited.
Jude	New Leaf Academy	3	When the headquarters is at Level 3 or higher, speak with Jude at New Leaf Academy. Then talk to one of the villagers in Forest Village and get some clay. Bring him the clay and he will join.
Tessai	Kuskus Town	3	Anytime following the liberation of Greenhill City, speak with him at his smithery in Kuskus Town with Viktor in the party.
Vincent	Radat Town	4	Talk to him in the southwestern corner of Radat Town's sluice gate with Simone in the party.
Genshu	Coronet Town	4	Sharpen the hero's weapon to Level 14 or more and speak to him on the docks of Coronet Town.
Pesmerga	Cave of the Wind	4	Speak with Pesmerga at the back of the Cave of the Wind.
Mazus	Tinto Mines	4	Speak to him deep within the Tinto Mines.

Makumaku	Greenhill Principality	0	He can be recruited randomly in Greenhill Principality by walking between Greenhill City and Two River City with an empty slot in the party. Must have recruited Mukumuku.
Mikumiku	Greenhill Principality	0	She can be recruited randomly in Greenhill Principality by walking between Greenhill City and the Forest Village with an empty slot in the party. Must have recruited Makumaku.
Mekumeku	Greenhill Principality	0	He can be recruited randomly in Greenhill Principality by walking between Greenhill City and the Road to Matilda with an empty slot in the party. Must have recruited Mikumiku.
Mokumoku	Greenhill Principality	0	He can be recruited randomly in Greenhill Principality by walking south of Forest Village with an empty slot in the party. Must have recruited Mekumeku.
Rulodia	Tinto Mines	3	If you have at least one set of Listening Orbs acquired from recruiting Badeaux, go to the Tinto Mines and agree to let her join.
Chuchara	New Alliance Army Headquarters	3	If you have recruited both Abizboah and Rulodia, visit them at the docks at your headquarters and Chuchara will join.
