Differences from the game
- Riou does not have to track down and recruit Amada or Tai Ho to find a boat to take him to Lakewest.
- Fitcher is not whipped in Two River City, nor is he almost lynched in Greenhill City.
- Riou and his party do not need to navigate the Two River Sewers.
- Jowy's role is fleshed out somewhat, with him having more conversations with Leon Silverberg, Jillia Blight, as well as Culgan and Seed.
- Emilia's role as the New Leaf Academy librarian who is on the player's side has been removed. Nina takes on some of those aspects instead.
- Riou does not take to the field during Luca Blight's massacre of the refugees from Muse City. He's prevented from doing so by the Matilda Knights.
- The alliance with the Toran Republic is made off-screen. Shu sent an envoy to Toran while Riou was in the Matilda Knightdom.
