Differences from the game
- Riou and friends stay at the White Deer Inn and help treat wounded soldiers. The Sindar Ruins subplot is completely removed, so they receive the pass in order to help treat wounded soldiers at the inn instead.
- Riou's group is not detained for using someone else's pass, so the moonlit night conversation that took place in a jail cell in the game is moved to the White Deer Inn instead.
- Riou notices Jowy is carrying a dagger he didn't have before when he returns from the reconnaissance mission.
- Riou's tonfa were shattered during the loss of the Mercenary Fortress. He receives a new pair before the battle against Solon Jhee outside Muse City.
- After re-obtaining the Celestial Sword, Riou overhears the sword and Viktor having a conversation about his pain over Anabelle's death.
- Neclord does not fling a boss monster, the Abomination, at the party. He simply leaves, vowing revenge.
- Nanami is not present for Viktor's recounting of Genkaku's past. In the game, she comes along but has fallen asleep by the end of the tale.
