Chinchirorin (チンチロリン, Chinchirorin) is a dice game played by two players, using three regular dice and a bowl. It has appeared as a mini-game in several games in the series.

Chinchirorin is a dice game popular in many parts of the world. During the Gate Rune War, Gaspar made a living running chinchirorin games but is also said to have lost a lot of money to members of the Toran Liberation Army during this time.

In reality, chinchirorin has many variants in its rules, but these are the common rules used within the series itself.

Basic rules

A player rolls all three dice simultaneously into the bowl. If a die falls out of the bowl, it is an automatic loss, and the player must pay the full amount of potch wagered. The aim of the game is to get two dice to land on the same number. The remaining number will be that player's 'score'. This score is compared to the score of the other player and the highest scoring individual wins.

If both players end up with the same score, or fail to make any score at all after three attempts each, it's called a draw and neither one of them wins. No money changes hands in this situation.

Special Rolls

If a player gets three of the same number (2, 3, 4, 5 or 6), they will automatically win the game and will win thrice the amount of potch originally wagered. However, if a player gets three ones, they will automatically lose and must pay triple the amount of potch wagered to their opponent.

Moreover, rolling 4-5-6 will automatically win, granting double the amount of potch wagered. On the contrary, rolling a 1-2-3 is an automatic loss, and the roller must pay double the wager to their opponent.

  • Piss - When a die falls out of the bowl on a roll.
  • Storm - When a player gets three of the same number in a single roll.
