Lilin was the fourth of the five [[mermaid]] sisters who were separated and forced into hiding when [[Cray Trading Company]] began its mermaid-hunting activities in the [[Island Nations]] region. She was a rare breed among mermaids for her willingness to engage with [[human]]s despite her understandable fear of them.
