Aldo (アルド, Arudo) is a supporting character in Suikoden IV. Aldo is an empathetic archer who tries to reach out to Ted during their time together.

History

Have you noticed that Ted avoids people like the plague? I hope I can do what I can to be his confidant. —  Aldo

You are deeply suspicious, Aldo.

Aldo was a young archer who spent his life living in forests. At some point, he apparently had become separated from his colleagues and was lost on the small Hermitage Island until he was rescued by the Headquarters Ship.

Due to his isolation, he was at first uneasy around the many people on board the ship, but his quiet, good-natured personality seemed to quickly shine through. In addition, he cared about Ted, even as he tried to push others away from himself. Despite Ted's attitude, Aldo would continue to keep an open mind and pursue conversations with him.

Following the Island Liberation War, a concerned Aldo seemed to follow Ted for a time before passing away in a mysterious accident. Whether Aldo fell victim to the curse of Ted's Soul Eater or perished in a freak accident is unknown.

Aldo	Ted...I think...I mean, he could be a little more friendly...with everyone. It's not like I'm saying this to badmouth him. It was just something that came to my attention...
Keen	Then, would you tell me what you think of the Hero?
Aldo	Well, he's my lifesaver for taking me in when I was lost, so...I'm really grateful for him.
Keen	Finally, quietly confess the things you wish to atone for, or all the things that you are thankful for.
Aldo	Something I want to atone for? I don't have anything, I don't think...Not right now.

Trivia

• If Ted is not recruited, his ending will change. Instead of dying, he returns to the forest.
