The Guard (番人, Ban'nin) is a boss event enemy in Suikoden IV. It is fought within the Ruins of Obel, before meeting Rikie, and again, after meeting Rikie.

Information

This powerful guardian protects the Ruins of Obel. Equipped with powerful weapons such as eye beams and ultrasonic waves, it endeavored to repel any intruders with its relentless attacks.

The Guard is also able to heal itself, but the repair function is built into its hands, so if it fights without its hands, it is unable to repair itself. When it was damaged by the hero, it would retreat before attacking again later, now with its hands.

Upon its destruction, a blacksmith's Iron Hammer can be found in the rubble.
