— Aila's profile

Aila was a young Karayan warrior, skilled with the bow and knowledgeable about magic and the spirits which inhabited the Grassland. Raised in the Karaya Village, she tended to adhere to her cultural norms but was nonetheless a curious girl with a somewhat naïve personality due to her lack of experience. She was proud of her heritage and brave to the point of foolhardiness in the face of any danger.
As a member of the Karaya Clan, Aila wore traditional Karayan clothing, mainly made of leather and designed for ease of movement. For her weapon, she wielded a wooden bow named Da Tar. In Aila's case, the bow allowed her to attack from a distance while sensing the location of her target through the power of the earth spirits.
Aila would first encounter Geddoe and his unit of the Southern Frontier Defense Force when they entered Karaya Village. She questioned their motives and was notable affronted when Ace called her "cute", feeling she was being dismissed as a warrior. When the Karaya Clan was attacked by the Zexen Knights, Aila survived the attack as she had left the village to pursue Sarah, whom her intuition made her suspect.
In order to track her down, Aila would travel with the SFDF. She held great anger against the Zexen Knights for their razing of her village, and had to be restrained on multiple occasions from avenging herself on the knights by Jacques and Queen. Her sense of justice and enthusiasm sometimes shined through, such as when she enthusiastically led the SFDF in their clandestine defense of Budehuc Castle.
Her participation War of the Champions awakened Aila's interest in the outside world and she gained valuable experience about the different cultures and ways of life in Zexen, Harmonia, and elsewhere. Aila fell in love with the sodas available in Caleria.
After joining the Fire Bringer alongside her comrades, Aila's curiosity at Budehuc Castle extended to her learning how to read and write in the Zexen manner from Ernie and asking Franz to take her for a ride on his mantor. She was uninterested in Karayan boys of her own age, finding them immature.
Following the War of the Champions, Aila was still eager to learn more about the outside world and so asked to join the SFDF. Geddoe turned down her request but allowed her to accompany the group as a trainee. She hoped in her heart that her experiences would allow her to better serve the Karaya Clan and the Grassland in the future.
