The elevator barbarians (エレベーターバーバリアン, Erebētābābarian) were a group of strongmen seen in Genso Suikogaiden Vol.1. They are also referenced in Suikoden III.

Information

The elevator barbarians are a mysterious band of strongmen who serve as the hidden power behind the elevator of the self-proclaimed genius inventor Adlai. Their origins are unknown, their faces concealed behind masks, and their identities are a subject of much speculation.

Adlai was seen training these men in secret within the forests near Greenhill. Their discipline is absolute, their strength unmatched—so much so that the martial artist Wakaba nearly joined their ranks, had Nash not intervened.

The barbarians hauled upon thick ropes with such speed and coordination that the elevator moves as if by magic. Witnesses attest that six of these men can lift great weights with astonishing swiftness. Adlai himself remains tight-lipped about how his elevator function, so none at New Alliance Army Headquarters knew of the truth.

Shizu, a student of Adlai, apparently operated her elevator at Budehuc Castle using the same principles. Kidd saw her training similar figures in the forest at night.
