Mission cards (ミッションカード, Misshonkādo) are a card type in the Genso Suikoden Card Stories TCG. Mission cards are played for character cards to attempt to secure in order to win the player VP.
Overview
Mission cards are one of the three main card types, along with Character cards and Facilities cards. They are usually based on incidents in the Suikoden series.
Each Mission has a clear criteria, usually either Military (MIL) or Attack (ATK) power and grants a number of VP to the player who clears it. The amount of VP given can depend on whether the player who first played the mission card clears it or whether the opponent does.
VP marked "VP x/x" (where x is the number of VP given) indicate that if the player who played the Mission clears it, they gain the VP on the left while if the opponent clears the Mission, they will gain the VP indicated on the right.
Mission cards are usually cleared by the dispatching of character cards during a Deployment Step although some mission cards have unique methods of clearance.
Mission and Facilities cards
For the purposes of simplifying card text, all Facilities cards are also considered Mission cards, as they are both goals that players deploy Character cards to attempt to secure. If a card's text mentions Mission cards in the generic sense, without qualifiers such as it being an ATK or MIL-decided Mission, then it refers to both Mission and Facilities type cards.
The opposite is not true. Mission cards are not considered Facilities cards for card text purposes. If a card's text mentions Facilities cards, this only applies to that type of card.
