Wendel (ウェンデル, Uenderu) is a supporting character in Suikoden IV and Suikoden Tactics. Wendel is the aggressively straightforward apprentice of Nico.
History

Wendel was a tomboyish and overly honest person who idolized Nico, the leader of the lookouts on board the Stronghold Ship. She pursued Nico with the dream of becoming a fully-fledged lookout like him.
Following her dreams, she was able to board the vessel once it returned to the Kingdom of Obel following the island's liberation from the Kooluk Empire and join the Allied Forces, wishing to learn under Nico.
She would learn a lot from Nico, despite his unease at having such a fanatical apprentice, and following the Island Liberation War, she would continue to study hard, determined to surpass Nico in nautical knowledge in the future.
Following the order of King Lino En Kuldes himself, she would later help Kyril in his investigations of the Rune Cannons in the Kooluk Empire. She showed her frank attitude in confronting Kyril, asking him why he did not join them during the Island Liberation War.
She thought of his injury as just a pitiful excuse but added that he had become strong and "cleaned up well" since then.
