Goro is a talented young bathmaker and the son of [[Tetsu]], who had crafted baths during the [[Dunan Unification War]]. His goal is to create baths that are so comfortable people can accidentally fall asleep in them. His number one ambition, however, is to surpass his ultimate rival in bath crafting; his father.

Goro was born in the [[Dunan Republic]] as the son of [[Tetsu]], a master [[bath]]-maker who had fought among the [[108 Stars]] during the [[Dunan Unification War]].
 
From his youth, Goro inherited his father's craft, dedicating himself to the art of bath-making with a singular ambition: to create baths so soothing that bathers would lose themselves in relaxation, drifting into slumber. 
 
Nineteen years of age when the [[War of the Champions]] erupted, Goro was spotted in [[Zexen Forest]] where he agreed to go to [[Budehuc Castle]] as it was one of the few places both large enough and willing to let him construct a bath. There, he constructed a [[Bath (Suikoden III)|bath]] within Budehuc Castle's shipwrecked vessel for his new allies and civilians to enjoy.
 
His baths became gathering places, where allies and strangers alike shared conversations and unwound their burdens. Yet they were also stages for unexpected dramas such as quarrels between [[Duke]] and [[Edge]], [[Roland Lesaurus|Roland]]’s vow never to share waters with [[Kenji]] again, and the mysterious discussions of [[Ace]], [[Borus Redrum|Borus]], and [[Nash Latkje|Nash]] beneath the steam.
 
Yet, for all his skill, Goro remained locked in a quiet rivalry with his father, whose mastery he had yet to equal. When the war ended, Goro challenged Tetsu to a contest of craftsmanship. Though he poured his soul into his work, his father's baths still reigned supreme.
 
Defeat, however, only sharpened his resolve. Gathering his tools, he set forth on a journey across the land, seeking rare woods and new techniques to refine his art.
