Kidd (キッド, Kiddo) is a supporting character in Suikoden III. Kidd is a boy detective whose cases usually turn out to be less than meets the eye.
History
|

Kidd is a boy detective who puts on a red eye-mask and starts his investigations whenever an incident occurs. Although possessed with a heavy belief in his abilities, he usually remains unaware that the incidents he investigates inevitably turn out to be nothing worth fussing about.
During the War of the Champions he worked together with Hugo to solve a murder case in the Duck Village (the victim turned out to be asleep after practicing yoga and not, in fact, a mangled corpse). Joining the Fire Bringer after this case, he was available to investigate members of the group, compiling an impressive numbers of profiles.
His other cases in Duck Village were similar in nature. An allegedly kidnapped girl turned out to be merely wandering and the chief's stolen salted fish turned out to have been eaten by his wife. Still, Kidd remains undeterred. To him, it's the detective's theories and not the reality that mark a detective as great or not.
Following the war, Kidd took up the investigation of a kidnapped lady of the Black Rose Society in the Nameless Lands.

Kidd's main theme is the eponymous track "Detective Kidd's Theme". It plays during the player's investigations with Kidd in Duck Village in Suikoden III. It is song 35 on disc 1 of the Genso Suikoden III Original Soundtrack.
A jazz-inspired rearranged version of the song appears with the same title as track 5 of Genso Suikoden III Music Collection ~Stirring Wind~.
