A Field (畑, Hata) in agriculture, is an area of land used for agricultural purposes such as cultivating crops. It is a facility available in several games of the Suikoden series.
Information
These fields are cultivated by those working the land, growing crops such as rice and vegetables. Most farm work is done by hand as agricultural science is uncommon. One important means of production for farmers is the hoe, which Blackman and Tony use. Hoes are generally made by blacksmiths and other craftsmen in various forms, such as flat hoes, four-pronged hoes, and all-purpose hoes.
During the Gate Rune War, Blackman tended fields for the Toran Liberation Army. New State Army Headquarters also had a number of fields used by Tony to grow various vegetables such as cabbages, tomatoes, spinach, and potatoes. This produce were used for Hai Yo's restaurant at the castle.
As part of his work, Tony battled moles every day to protect his precious crops and gave people who assisted him in his Whack-A-Mole endeavors various prizes.
Gardeners, such as Zen, were also sometimes seen as being involved in agriculture, though their crop, flowers, soothed the heart rather than fed the body. Many towns are decorated with flowers to enhance the beauty of people's homes.
