Scott (スコット, Sukotto) is a supporting character in Suikoden III. Scott is a trader who travels the world, making a profit along the way.

History

A trading merchant with his parrot partner, Waurenhyte, on his shoulder. He travels whichever way the wind blows.

—  Scott's profile

Scott was a young merchant of unknown origin, accompanied only by his loyal parrot, Waurenhyte. As a young adult, he wandered the lands under the employ of a great trading guild, dreaming of one day establishing his own emporium.

His companion, Waurenhyte, was no ordinary bird. It could speak and comprehend human speech, serving as both confidant and partner in trade. Scott had acquired the parrot in his very first business transaction, exchanging a single candle for the creature in a southern land.

To Scott, the parrot was not merely a pet but an essential ally in commerce. Waurenhyte captured people's attentions, often giving Scott the chance to bring up trading. Waurenhyte's amusing interjections often swayed negotiations in his favor.

He would move to Budehuc Castle from Brass Castle after being impressed by the Fire Bringer's trading acumen. Scott offered counsel to his new allies, advising them on pearls, ancient texts, and gold rushes.

He also advised caution, knowing well that fortunes could be lost, as well as made, on rumor alone. He spoke especially highly of Vinay del Zexay, where luxury goods fetched the highest prices.

When the War of the Champions subsided, Scott, ever restless, turned his gaze westward in search of new trade routes.
