Dinn (ダイン, Dain) is a supporting character in Suikoden V. Dinn is the loyal, good-hearted commander of Sable's forces.
History
Dinn is a young swordsman, who serves the House of Raulbel in Sable and commands the town's garrison. He is known as the "Southern Seraph" for his skill in battle. Dinn was an orphan, taken in by Solis Raulbel's father with the intention of being raised as a gladiator.
However, Solis talked his father out of it and Dinn entered the Sable garrison and eventually became its commander. He held a great love for Sable and all it had given him, comparable only to the feelings he had for Solis' daughter, Salisha.
Dinn first met the Prince when he was introduced by Salum Barows in Rainwall. Dinn served as a representative of Sable and commander of its forces when it allied with the Barows and the Prince after the Queen's Assassination.
Later, during the Sun Rune War, he escorted the Prince to Ranro Mountain in order to apprehend the so-called 'Bandit Prince', Roy, whose misdeeds were fostering resentment against the Prince in the region. After helping clear up the incident, Dinn joined the Imperial City Recapture Army as a representative of the town.
Dinn felt that he, Mathias and Isato had a very common bond, as all of them served their ladies. Although, the others disagreed, arguing that their bonds were not forged by love or attraction, or so they claimed.
Dinn also forged a bond with the warrior Belcoot, as the two were often seen training together. The highlight of their training sessions is a paired attack where they focus their power and slash out a wave projectile at their enemies.
After the war, Dinn returned to Sable, continuing to gain great fame and eventually, or so it is said, the hand of Salisha.
Weapon
Dinn's weapons Manar al-Sana (マナル・アル・サナ), Najm al-Sabah (ナジム・アル・サバ), and Shams al-Zuha (シャムス・アル・ズハ) originate in one of the stories of One Thousand and One Nights. Manar al-Sana, Najm al-Sabah and Shams al-Duha were three sisters.
