Phil (フィル, Firu) is a supporting character in Suikoden IV. Phil was a skilled tailor who feels responsible for making good use of the materials he is given.
History

Phil was a tailor who made clothes using a variety of materials, both standard and unusual. His prowess was considerable, with some of his tailored clothing even possessing powerful magical-like effects on its wearer. Because the materials needed for his work were difficult to gather, he had become extremely work-focused in order to create garments worthy of the materials he had gathered.
Finding himself wanting to work in a place where a large variety of people would gather, he eagerly accepted the hero's offer to join the crew of the Headquarters Ship. Throughout the Island Liberation War, he would create dozens of new outfits on board the ship.
On the ship, he shared a room with Tov, who unnerved him slightly due to his silence. He also offended Lilin when he requested a scale from her, not realizing what she had been through in her past. He wished for a chance to reconcile with her.
Following the war, with his technique now more refined than ever, it was said that no greater tailor existed than Phil.
