A window maker (窓職人, mado shokunin) is a vocation in the Suikoden series. It describes people who can design and create decorative windows.

Information

Window makers are crafters who use Window Sets to make decorative windows. This rare vocation is passed down through the generations in a handful of families and communities. Some even speculate there is only one extended family for window makers.

The Toran Liberation Army and the New Alliance Army were each staffed by window makers named Window and Tenkou, respectively. Window in particular used a Window Rune in his work. When given a Window Set, both could change the design of the windows to various types.

One role of the window maker is the manufacture and construction of decorative windows. In fact, after the Gate Rune War, Window was entrusted with the construction of decorative windows on Magician's Island. It is unclear whether this was done using practical construction techniques, or whether it utilized the power of Window's Window Rune.

Like acousticians, window makers often worked outside. It is speculated this is so they could study how best to use natural sunlight in their pieces.
